Buying a TV receiver box and the card directly from eBay, will it work at home?
I already have direct tv in my house, but only for a TV and would like another picture, so my wife can see another room. I found some on eBay with an access card and was thinking buy it, but Direct TV charged me extra monthly? Do I have to say that I bought new receptors to activate it?
ok, but be aware some things. First, satellite receivers are often used to "balance" attached to them, which means that the previous user did not pay all that was. if the receiver has to be used again, although the account of another person, the balance still needs to pay. I would contact the eBay seller and make sure there is no balance. receiver can also get the card ID and vendor ID and contact DirecTV to inquire about the balance yourself. if they say No balance, then you're ready to go. Second, unfortunately, DIRECTV will charge an additional $ 5 a month for a second receiver on your account. Most people mistakenly believe that it is a "monthly rental charge" for the box. is, however, is incorrect. rate applies to any additional receiver after the first, no matter if you purchased the receiver directly (ie eBay), or leased from DIRECTV (basically a loan). Honestly, I would suggest you just switched to Dish Network, if possible. It would be considered a new customer, you get all the cool stuff for free. Free 2-DVR Room, free installation, Cinemax for a year and three months free. I would have to sign a 2 year contract, but that's pretty normal. anywho, just I mention this so you can make an educated decision.
