Graphic design or desktop publishing work from home?
Does anyone know of a company that uses work from home opportunities for graphic designers?
I do almost all the work of my client in my office / studio. Work especially hard to find and keep my clients, so I hope you understand why I will not share my client base with you. If you are serious about the functioning of an independent study graphics, should understand that the primary function of an independent artist is selling. Customers do not go door to door in neighborhoods looking for designers. You have to leave and find their clients. You do not get paid unless you have to do. I run marketing campaigns of three or four times a year, posting fliers, postcards, as brochures and print shops, design studios and agencies throughout the country. I am also in constant communication with art directors and book publishers magazines, greeting card manufacturers and several advertising agencies. If I'm lucky, about one in a hundred direct mail contacts get me a return call. Of these, about one in twenty can result in a real mission. I was told that my rate of success in these campaigns is exceptionally good. This, and some word of mouth is how to get new customers. If I do well, some of these regular customers become, and these are the usual that keep me in business and pay my bills. Therefore, I suggest you go to the library, do some research and get to work marketing yourself. Good luck.
